Jan 2022 status update

Sorry for those who have been waiting for the next group of shipments.

Here is the current situation as of Jan 2022.

Our foam base is a very high quality injection type bio foam that we have manufactured in the US by one of the top foam manufacturers in the country and we have been blessed to have them as a partner. Unfortunately the foam industry has been hit pretty hard by many of the covid shutdowns going on globally. The current issue is that the base chemical components have seen very large costs increases, our last check mid Jan was up just under 300%.

Sadly, this would have a huge impact on the cost of our product at both manufacturing and sale.

We are working with our supplier to check in with them to see if there are signs of costs going down.

We have also been asked by some whether we have looked at getting some made in China or Mexico and the answer is that yes we have looked, but do not see any cost savings and quality we currently get, nor as a small business have we obtained a lot of interest.

Our goal for 2022 is starting to look like a limited order hopefully by mid year. This is going to be targeted at 200 to 250 units. People who have reached out to us from email have been added to the list for first opportunity to purchase when we do have inventory.

If you want to be added, please just follow the join newsletter link at the bottom of the home page or send us an email at info@lapcozy.com with a request to be added and we can give you an update on what number you may be sitting at.

Our second update is that we are working on a new method to produce the core component using a 3d print method, which is much slower, but also is taking a lot of adjustments to see if we can recreate a similar soft supportive feel as our injection foam version. If we get any prototypes done that we feel are ready, we will work down our newsletter list to see if anyone wants to try one of these. We currently do not have a pricing defined yet, but hoping to remain similar to the normal one.

We appreciate everyone’s continued patience with us as we work through these challenges.
